Winner of the American School & University
2000 Architectural Portfolio Award, the Dover Middle
School has been nationally recognized for educational
design excellence. Design challenges were twofold: the
educational program, based on neighborhoods, and site
constraints.
Classroom "neighborhoods" consist of one grade per wing on a
floor, each with staff planning/meeting area and self-contained
support areas for lockers, toilets, data closets and
custodial support room. The layout is designed to provide
teaching teams with common planning time and a team-driven
schedule. Wings are separated by student services on the
first floor and the media center on the second floor. The design
allows for use of the gymnasium, cafeteria/kitchen and
large-group room without needing to access the entire
school. This limited access enhances school-wide security and
also encourages community use.
Numerous site issues were encountered but overcome by the design.
The building sits half on clay and half on ledge. Construction
techniques involved steel structures utilized on clay
to minimize loads and load-bearing masonry adapted for ledge.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held in September 17, 1992, to
celebrate the opening of this new healthcare facility. Dwight
Sowerby, Owner and President of the Peterborough-based
Sowerby Healthcare, dedicated the new facility to his deceased
mother, Vera May Sowerby. Mrs. Sowerby devoted her life to
care-giving as a nurse and nursing home administrator. The
147-bed nursing home is a 2-story building, nestled on 15 acres
of land in Bedford, NH.

Design and construction administration services were provided for
this new 5,700-square-foot branch facility in Amherst, NH. An
open house in November of 2001 celebrated the completion
of the facility. The new branch was designed to accommodate the
full spectrum of services offered by the credit union.
Additional projects by Team Design for Triangle Credit Union
include the Nashua main office on Franklin Street and a branch
facility on Elm Street in Manchester.

Hampshire Fire Protection is the largest fabricator of fire
protection devices in NH. The facility, located in the Airport
Industrial Park in Londonderry, includes an office and a
fabricating/warehouse area.
When the decision was made to proceed with building this
facility, Hampshire Fire Protection
selected a General Contractor well-known for working with
pre-engineered buildings. Thecontractor chose to team up with
Team Design because of its' progressive and cost-effective
design work in this area. A two-story office area was
accomplished by designing a standard steel-framed second story
within the pre-engineered building shell.

The Boys & Girls Clubs are committed to providing equal access
and delivering a full range of activities to all boys and girls,
consistent with their diverse interests and needs. The
Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua first facilitated an existing
facility analysis to establish the condition of the buildings
infrastructure to support both current and future
program needs. The facility analysis was invaluable in
determining where and how corrective work would be undertaken to
satisfy program offerings.
The cost of corrective work was established and a capital
improvement fund raiser started. Through these generous
donations, the Club updated both mechanical and electrical
systems, installed a new pool filtration system, updated all
interior finishes, renovated space for
new locker rooms and other program spaces, addressed
accessibility issues, re-roofed old and
leaking roofs, and updated and refurbished the exterior
appearance. The entire project was
phased and completed with full Owner occupancy.

Sanmina Corporation is a California based technology company
which manufactures printed circuit boards and electronic
subassemblies for its clients. Sanmina was looking to
establish an East Coast manufacturing facility to address an ever
expanding market. Projected production schedules required the new
facility be operational for January 1996; as
such, the design team and construction manager where allotted a
five month period, an extremely aggressive schedule, to both
design and construct the new facility.
The end product was delivered on time and under budget. The
facility is constructed of load bearing split-face cmu and open
web joists, and utilizes accent bands of glazed block; as
well as, a twenty foot high wall of New Hampshire granite in the
main lobby to provide both a beautiful and inviting main
entrance.
